The Search Bar in Firefox is a very useful utility. What is even more interesting is that new search engines can be added using a standard XML definition to the searchplugins folder of your Firefox profile. There is a huge community with search plugins for anything you can think of. I even found one for CricInfo StatsGuru. They also have a page to allow simple generation of the XML file based on a set of parameters. So I created a simple one for CricInfo Headlines.

Now what's better is that Malte Kraus has a Firefox extension that allows you to create a searchplugin from almost any text box you find on any webpage. Really powerful and useful extension. It even tries to pick up an icon for the search plugin from the webpage on which the search textbox was found - using a default icon is none found.

Right click on any textbox that supports search and select the   option. A new search plugin will be created in your profile. It's that easy.

Firstly, if you haven't started using BillMonk, you are mising something. I was one of the early-adopters when Dev told me about this new startup. BillMonk recently merged with OboPay.

BillMonk

Obopay

Thanks to persistent evangelism in my circles, Singapore is one of the leading users of BillMonk as heard in a podcast interview with the founders of BillMonk.

Recently faced a problem with BillMonk, when trying to merge one of my friends' account. This is what I reported.

My friend does not want to use the email consolidation feature and is using a certain email account "xyz@xyz.com" for his billmonk account. I had earlier added him with a different email account - "abc@abc.com". Now I have a list of transactions marked under "abc@abc.com" even though this "abc@abc.com" is still marked as "friend hasn't joined yet".

When I try to change the email for this "abc" using the "Wrong Email?" link, to "xyz@xyz.com", it doesn't let me, as it thinks that "xyz" cant be reinvited already having an account. This should not be a case IMO.

I should just be able to change the email ID being used for my friend.

I am a great follower of the "Getting Things Done" principle, following some of the techniques and methods highlighted by Scott Hanselman.

After trying I even bought SpeedFiler as highlighted in my previous post. Few more suggestions for the SpeedFiler team:

Suggestion 4: The filing process should allow the user to flag the post, in the same workflow. A simple toolbar in the filing window, with keyboard shortcuts to select the flag color will help. This should happen for normal filing and "sent items" filing.

Suggestion 5: Shortcut to reach the "Go to Folder ..." box should be integrated in Outlook.
